Established in 2008 by the Ministry of Education, the School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada (SPAV) is an Institute of National Importance dedicated exclusively to the fields of Planning and Architecture. It is one of only three such premier institutions in India and follows 100% implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP). SPAV offers student-centric undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs that emphasize sustainable development, technological innovations, climate-responsive design, and Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS).
The campus is green-rated and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including ICT-enabled classrooms and studios, modern laboratories, a central library, hostels, sports areas, and open- air theatres. With a strong focus on research and holistic learning, SPAV provides an environment that nurtures academic excellence and real-world relevance in planning and architectural education.
